The Ghost Prelude
Composer and pianist Felix Bead visits Valldemossa, Mallorca, where Frédéric Chopin stayed in a monastery in the winter of 1838, and where he experienced many apparitions.
Chopin, now an apparition himself, appears to Felix during his stay in visitation dreams. Both lost souls — Felix in the present and Chopin in the afterlife — they form a bond, exploring themes of belonging, sexuality and musical creativity. Felix finds out that his father, who died before he knew him, was Spanish.
Chopin leaves Felix a mysterious manuscript: The Ghost Prelude. A case of fake or fortune ensues, resulting in a sale at auction for a huge sum. Chopin's gift to his friend enables Felix to start a new life where he belongs, in Mallorca.

“The author, clearly a musician herself, does an excellent job of explaining musical terms, the ups-and-downs of trying to make it in the commercial world — both for Chopin and Felix — and the camaraderie among musicians and music lovers.”

“It got me to listen to Chopin’s music while reading it, which was very nice.”
